Many unsafe chemicals in toothpastes and mouthwashes are absorbed directly into the bloodstream, even if you don't swallow them. They are absorbed through the mucosal lining inside your mouth at a rate as high as 90%. Most toothpastes are loaded with potentially dangerous chemicals such as fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, sodium saccharin, sodium lauryl sulfate, pentasodium triphosphate, titanium dioxide, F D & C Blue #1, Yellow#5 and Yellow#10. Some of these additives, like sodium lauryl sulfate (a known skin irritant), have long been suspected of health damaging effects. In the U.S.A., the F.D.A. acknowledges that fluoride, when swallowed, poses significant risks to children. The F.D.A. requires all fluoride toothpastes to carry a poison warning label.

Dentarome Ultra is my preferred toothpaste – since starting on it, I’ve noticed that my gums hardly ever bleed any more, and I’m delighted with how gentle it is on my teeth. However, I also keep Dentarome Plus in stock as my underarm deodorant – a tiny amount under each armpit keeps me fresh all day.
